Welcome back to another semester at Berkeley and thank you all for your interest in VHIO! We’re currently in the process of relocating ourselves to a new website and will be updating you all with the link by the end of this week. We will have our info session and application dates on there so check back in the next few days.
We’ll be tabling on Upper Sproul at Calapalooza tomorrow (Thurs. Aug 29th) from 3:30 pm to 7:00pm so drop by and say hi!
– VHIO Officers, 2013-2014
The information content on this website has been updated. However, I understand that we do not have too many pictures on our website, so please be patient with us.
VHIO was featured in an article published in the Synapse, the UCSF student newspaper. The article discusses VHIO’s contributions to a Project Brown Bag Clinic last semester. Please click here to read the article.
As part of VHIO, many of us serve or will soon serve as healthcare interpreters at clinics, screenings, outreach events, medical conferences, and so on because we care about the underserved communities around the Bay Area. We understand how it’s important to be culturally aware of our patients’ sexual health and/or other life experiences when we’re interpreting for them, but how many of you have actually taken the time to consider your own sexual health?
Feel free to look at the materials our VHIO treasurer Kathy put together on sexual health communication in the API community for our last workshop on April 8th. Also check out the results from her conducted surveys! Links are below:
Spring semester workshop photos have been uploaded to the website! Please click on Photos to view them, and we hope to see you at the upcoming workshop this Sunday on April 8th!
The World Journal came to interview VHIO and our preceptor Dr. Yu at our hep B clinic at Chinatown Public Health Center. Click here to read the article about VHIO, what we do, the importance of interpretation, and our role in hep B clinics.
